Firsts… In sharing their stories, many of our interviewees have mentioned how hard first holidays and birthdays were without their loved ones. Today’s blog post is an idea for remembering them on those occasions… a balloon launch.

A memory balloon launch can take many forms:

  1. A balloon release of a large number of balloons all in the loved one's favorite color.
  2. Family members or friends write messages on notes that are tied to balloons before they are released.
  3. Family members or friends write messages directly onto the balloons and then send them up in the air. (If you write messages directly on the balloon, be sure you use a pen that won’t pop the balloon.)

If you have done a balloon release to celebrate the memory of someone important to you, we would love to tell you about your experience on this blog.
