Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals

Buddy Volunteer

"Buddies" are the heart of Kate's Club! Serve as a positive role model and create a safe space for children and teen members while facilitating activities.
Details:
  • Must attend New Volunteer Orientation and Training.
  • Flexible shifts on weekday evenings, weekend mornings, and weekend afternoons.
  • Locations: Atlanta, Albany, Athens, Brunswick, Cobb County and Newnan.
  • Virtual options available upon request.
  • Once additional training is complete, Buddy Volunteers are eligible to volunteer for camp.

Clubhouse Support

A perfect introductory volunteering opportunity to discover first-hand what we do and how we do it. Help out during weekend Clubhouse programs and provide hands-on support during both recreational and grief-centered activities. Background screening is required.
Details:
  • Morning and afternoon shifts
  • Saturday and Sunday shifts
  • Hands-on work with children and teens

Clubhouse Cleaning & Painting

The perfect project for corporate groups with only a few hours looking for volunteer work in Atlanta, Ga. Get to know our  Clubhouse facility and provide much-needed assistance keeping our space fresh for members and families.
Details:
  • Help clean, paint and refresh.
  • Needed once a quarter.
  • Done during business hours.

Camp Good Mourning

Support our twice-annual weekend camps by volunteering in Atlanta with camp prep, camper check-in, and camper pick-up. Or volunteer in Winder, Georgia to help on-site with our camp party.
Details:
  • April and August weekend camps.
  • Volunteer in Atlanta or Winder.
  • Provide hands-on or logistics support.

Adopt a Meal

Did you know Kate's Club provides members and families a meal at each program? Serve lunch or dinner at one of our programs to get to know our mission, work, and families.
Details:
  • No training or screening required.
  • Weeknight dinners and weekend lunch shifts.
  • Great for a small team or family.
  • Available at all Clubhouse locations.

Event Support

Group volunteer support is crucial for a number of special events, including our core annual event Memory Walk. Memory Walk is held each November in Atlanta and Athens. Fill out this form if interested.
Details:
  • Prep prior to events on weekdays.
  • Support at events on weekends.
  • Support smaller fundraisers or tabling events held at a variety of times.
