Interns provide vital support to the Kate's Club mission of empowering children and teens, their families and young adults who are grieving. We would not be able to provide the scale and quality of free grief support services to our communities without our interns, and we are delighted to introduce you to our Spring 2025 intern cohort. Without further ado, meet the Addie, Angie, Kiya and Lanae' who will be support our free grief support programs in Atlanta, Albany, Athens, Brunswick, Cobb County and Newnan!

Meet Kate's Club Grief Support Intern Addie

Kate's Club bereavement support intern Addie

Addie is a senior at Oglethorpe University. She is graduating with a B.A. in Sociology on the Social Work Track and a minor in Psychology. She plans to pursue a job as a children’s social worker and eventually gain her Master’s of Social Work. In her free time, Addie enjoys reading, dancing, and hanging out with her best friends. She is so excited to be interning at Kate’s Club and hopes this will be an opportunity for personal and educational growth.

Kate's Club grief support intern Angie

Angie, a social work intern from Georgia State University, was inspired by her parents’ struggles as immigrants from South Korea to pursue a career in helping others. After losing her grandmother- a central figure in her life since age 10- Angie developed a deep understanding of the importance of grief support. While interning at Kate's Club, she hopes to gain valuable experience in supporting grieving children and families and contribute to creating a safe, compassionate community for those navigating grief.

Kate's Club bereavement support intern Kiya

Kiya is a senior and social work major at Georgia State University. Ever since her interview, she has been extremely motivated to join the team because even though she is in school for social work, she still wants to teach children and be a school social worker. She wants to be that teacher who can give a helping hand on the mental and emotional side, along with helping them gain knowledge. With Kate’s Club, she has been inspired to not only help children with their grieving process but to also work on her own childhood loss of a caregiver that she experienced.

Kate's Club bereavement support intern LaNae'

LaNae' Ramey is an MSW intern from the University of Georgia. She has my bachelors in Psychology from Spelman College. She currently serves as a preschool teacher, but her passion is working within the youth communities. Some of her favorite hobbies include music, dancing and writing.

Kate’s Club empowers children and teens, their families, and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, caregiver or someone important to them. The organization builds healing communities through recreational and therapeutic group programs, education and advocacy. Since its founding in metro Atlanta in 2003, Kate’s Club has served thousands of individuals who are grieving, through both in-house and outreach services. Kate's Club offers services in Atlanta, Albany, Athens, Brunswick, Cobb County, and Newnan, GA.
